norming society from a wide range of good and bad possibilities into a
uniform, lukewarm sea of mediocrity.
In a crude, stupid sense this is a solution in the modern political
landscape. Their method ensures that nothing useful can happen and thus
no one could be offended, so as long as people are directed to waste
their lives consuming entertainment and junk food -- and to long for
nothing more -- they will be satisfied. But this idiotic capitalistic
utopia is entirely unsatisfying to anyone who has ever found meaning
and a spiritual connection to the traditional culture that the modern
flood of junk strives to bury. It also ensures that the few who find
legitimate culture are certain to become the dissidents of modernity.
Enjoy this voyage into the dregs of civilization's past when the duller
people worshiped invisible beings, invented fictional realities, and
waged ideological war on everything that promised an honest future.

commit. Before He ever condemned us, He had the plan to redeem us. He loved
